Jim Chase, DJ and Announcer
Jim Chase has been a professional entertainer since the mid-sixties. He began his career as a musician and singer/songwriter and still works as a singer of “industrials” and commercials from time to time
In the 1970’s he was a staff drummer with Bill Lowery’s Southern Tracks recording studios and traveled or recorded with such artists as Dennis Yost and the Classics IV, the Tams, Tommy Roe, Billy Joe Royal, CMA award winner Verne Gosdin, Razzy Bailey, Fredrick Knight, Lloyd Price, etc. In addition, he played and sang with a highly regarded 70’s vocal band called Tristan. He has also worked with various songwriters and producers who are largely unknown to the general public but are considered to be luminaries in the music community.
In 1984, Jim made the decision to utilize his considerable experience as a performer and his extensive knowledge of pop music to become a Disc Jockey and M.C. His outgoing personality and sense of humor, combined with his ability to “read” a crowd is sure to make him a hit with your group.
Jim’s areas of expertise include (but are not limited to) today’s popular music, 80’s (Mainstream and Alternative), 70’s (Disco, Rock), 60’s (Motown, Beach, Rock), 50’s (Rock ‘n Roll, R&B), Country (old & new), plus some knowledge of Big Band/Swing and Jazz/Easy Listening music. He carries almost 9,000 titles to every performance and the collection is still being continuously updated.
When he’s not performing or preparing for performances, Jim works as a recording engineer. This assures you that your entertainer also has a rather in-depth knowledge of sound and the equipment he uses. In addition, he also works as a voice-over producer, singer, and as the announcer/host of a Casino oriented stage show called “Winners’ Circle Indoor Horse Racing” that he often presents.
If reliability, versatility, personality, cooperative attitude, and all-around professionalism are a must for you, them place Jim Chase at the top of your list of prospective entertainers for your special event. You’ll be glad you did.
