Al has been a professional musician all his life. Beginning as a teenager in his first garage band, followed by a major in music at Virginia Commonwealth University, his career has taken him across the country to Los Angeles, and now back east to Tampa, and most recently Atlanta. Playing multiple horns, multiple keyboards, Latin percussion, and with strong vocals, he has played with, and backed up countless acts, including acclaimed artists: Bobby McFerrin, Carl Anderson, Barbara Morrison, Don Shelton, Mel Martin, Cornelius Bumpus, The Tower of Power Horn Section, Kevin Toney, The Buena Vista Social Club, The Afro-Cuban All Stars, Cheech and Chong, Charo, Donny Osmond, Buddy Miles, Chubby Checker, The Platters, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Tams, The New Blue Notes (of Harold Melvin – Teddy Pendergrass fame), Chuck Rio & The Champs … “Tequila!”
